Hi All in the group... : ) I wanted to invite you all to listen to one of my tunes... it touches all who have been "Judged" for being WHO we are and for WHO we may love... the song is entitled... "I Will Be Judged" the tune starts off kinda slow and melancholy but get's a little more angry and forward, as I defend ALL of us, who have ever been "Judged" I hope you all enjoy it and give it a chance.

since the word "queer" is like the word "weird" (of the supernatural) then I'm glad to be a member...and here I thought it was about dance clubs!

Hmm, back to Nancy's question. I never had any problems outside of the gay community. I've been very lucky. I have been discrimiated against by other gay performers in my city-been called names, had rumors spread, been blacklisted. I think it is more of the fact that they hate themselves so much, they have to lash out at me--a person who is living her dream and respects others. I get paid gigs, radio play, contracts, etc--they don't. So it is really about them and not me. Never had a problem with any other venue, agent, musician, etc outside of the gay community. In terms of my day job--never had a problem. People at work will make stupid general jokes about gays--but never attack me on a personal level or ask me questions. My songs are universal, so why I have written love songs for females, they go over well with all audiences. I even perform a song called Beloved Wife written and performed with permission by Natalie Merchant (who is straight)--people love the song--never had a problem.
